Introduction to the 400G QSFP-DD
The 400G QSFP-DD Digital Coherent Optics (DCO) transceiver is designed to support multi-rate coherent transmission for metro, regional, and
data center interconnect (DCI) applications. On the host side, the module supports either a single IEEE 400GE Ethernet signal or n × 100GE Ethernet
signals (n = 1, 2, or 4), which are multiplexed onto a single line interface. On the line side, this 400G QSFP-DD transceiver supports 400G 16QAM,
200G 16QAM, 200G QPSK, and 100G QPSK modulation, along with extended C-band operation and polarization diversity coherent detection.
The module uses an MSA-compliant QSFP-DD Type 2A form factor, measuring 93.26 mm × 18.35 mm × 8.5 mm.It conforms to the Common Management Interface Specification (CMIS) and the extensions defined in the OIF Coherent CMIS Implementation Agreement.A 76-pin connector provides the electrical interface to the system board. The module comprises a transmitter (Tx) unit, a receiver (Rx) unit, and several control units.
An internal microcontroller (MCU) supports modulator control, software management, alarm reporting, and performance monitoring.
